About
Who We Are
Turn Key Designs was founded on a simple frustration: remodeling shouldn’t require homeowners to manage two disconnected teams.
Courtney and Andrew spent years watching the same pattern repeat across DuPage County. A homeowner hires a designer who draws up a beautiful plan. Then they hire a contractor who says half of it can’t be built, at least not within budget. Now the homeowner is playing mediator between two professionals who have never worked together, have different priorities, and neither of whom takes full responsibility for the outcome. Timelines slip. Budgets balloon. What should be an exciting transformation becomes a months-long headache.
They started Turn Key Designs to eliminate that pattern entirely. Not with slicker marketing or bigger promises, but with a fundamentally different structure. One team handles both design and construction from the first consultation to the final walkthrough. The designer who draws your kitchen layout is in the room when the cabinets are being installed. Problems get solved in real time instead of bouncing between two companies through a chain of emails and voicemails.
The Design-Build Model
The design-build delivery method is not new. It has been the standard in commercial construction for decades because it reduces cost, shortens timelines, and creates single-point accountability. According to the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB), residential design-build firms have grown significantly in market share as homeowners have increasingly sought the same integrated approach for their own homes.
At Turn Key Designs, there is no gap between the design team and the build team because they are the same people. Every design decision is validated for structural feasibility and cost impact while it is being developed. Every construction detail is informed by the original design intent. You get one point of contact, one timeline, and one team that takes complete ownership. Our Why Turn Key page breaks down exactly how this compares to the traditional fragmented approach.
Our Luxury Showroom
We believe you should never have to guess what your new space will look like. That is why we built a full luxury design showroom at our Lombard headquarters, located at 219 S Main Street in downtown Lombard.
Walk in and touch actual cabinet door samples, full-size countertop slabs, flooring options you can walk on, hardware, tile, and fixtures. Compare finishes side by side under proper lighting. When you make decisions in our showroom, you are choosing from real materials at real scale, not tiny swatches or catalog photos. That confidence eliminates the regret that so many homeowners feel after making selections they have never seen in person.
Serving DuPage County
Based in Lombard, we serve homeowners throughout DuPage County. Our team has completed projects in Wheaton, Glen Ellyn, Downers Grove, Lisle, Villa Park, Glendale Heights, Carol Stream, and Winfield. We know the local building codes, permit requirements, and architectural styles that define this area. We are not a national franchise guessing at local conditions. We live and work here.
Whether you need a bathroom renovation, a room addition, or a complete whole-home remodel, our team brings the same integrated approach to every project. You can see a full list of everything we offer on our services page.
What Drives Us
We are not trying to be the biggest remodeling company in Illinois. We are trying to be the one that homeowners trust enough to call back for their second project and recommend to their neighbors without hesitation.
That means we do not cut corners to hit a price point. We do not upsell materials you do not need. We follow our structured three-phase process on every project, and we do not start construction until every single detail is planned, specified, and approved. When we say a project will cost a certain amount, that is what it costs.
Courtney and Andrew are personally involved in every project Turn Key takes on. Not in a “sign the contract and disappear” capacity, but in a “you have our direct phone numbers” capacity. Our clients become part of the Turn Key family, and many come back for second and third projects over the years. That repeat trust is the metric we care about most, because you do not earn it with advertising. You earn it by delivering exactly what you promised, project after project.
